    ​The Ministry of Tourism presents the investment opportunities program for the tourism sector to businessmen in the Asharqia Chamber.​

     

    Asharqia Chamber, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, organized a workshop titled "The Investment Opportunities Program in the Tourism Sector" on Monday, April 22, 2024. The workshop was attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism for Empowering Tourist Destinations, Engineer Mahmoud bin Samir Abdulhadi, along with a large number of businessmen, interested parties, and investors in the tourism sector in the Eastern Province.

     

    The workshop was conducted remotely via Zoom, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Investment for Investment Operations, Engineer Saleh bin Ali Al-Khobti. The workshop showcased a pioneering program in the Kingdom, supporting 10 targeted tourist destinations: Riyadh, Al-Baha, Taif, Al-Ahsa, Jeddah, Al-Qassim, Hail, Asir, Dammam, and Al-Jouf.

     

    Eng. Abdulhadi explained during the workshop, moderated by the Chairman of the Eastern Province Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Raziza, that the Ministry's Investment Opportunities Program supports both Saudi and foreign investors. Additionally, the program aims to create new investments exceeding 42 billion Saudi riyals, contribute to the GDP by more than 16 billion Saudi riyals, and provide over 120,000 job opportunities.

     

    The Deputy Minister also noted a 22% reduction in government fees in the hospitality sector this year, emphasizing the program's support for hotel projects of all categories with a minimum of 15 million riyals, excluding the value of the land. The program will support either new projects or projects under construction.

     

    Eng. Al-Khobti stated that the Ministry continues to connect investors and empower them through various packages and programs, fostering a conducive investment environment and creating numerous quality opportunities to contribute effectively and efficiently to the GDP.

     

    Al-Raziza, the Chamber's President, affirmed that the Eastern Province is a fertile and distinctive investment environment for investors in the tourism sector due to its unique environmental and investment factors, as well as its diverse young talents. He emphasized the Ministry of Tourism's support for the sector through its distinctive programs aimed at enhancing tourism services in the Kingdom in general and the Eastern Province in particular.
